A Spanish research laboratory has renewed the Global Ranking Web of Universities. Data of more than 20 thousand higher education institutions all over the world was considered in this ranking.

According to Webometrics, university ranking is among the most prestigious ones in the world which reveals results of activities dedicated to a university`s promotion in virtual space. The results are compared in accordance with contents of a university`s official web-site.

University ranking international agency evaluates Belarusian universities as well. Francisk Skorina Gomel State University ranks 5th among Belarusian higher education institutions and 1st – in the region. The other universities of Gomel region are well behind.

Belarusian State University is still the leading one. Belarusian National Technical University ranks 2nd, Yanka Kupala Grodno State University – 3rd, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics – 4th.

– Such a successful result is not the reason for taking the heat off, – says Rector of GSU S.A. Khakhomov. – We are to keep on enhancing the quality of online presence of GSU, as it determines our prestige, recognition, possibility to establish cooperation at international level.
