Curriculum Vitae
Michael Dolinsky

Head of the Information Computing Centre,
an associated professor
of the chair "Mathematical Problems of Control"
Gomel Fr.Scaryna State University, Belarus

I was born in 1958. In 1979 I was graduated from the mathematical faculty of the Gomel State University (diploma with honor) and in 1989 I was graduated (by correspondence) from computer faculty of the Moscow Institute of Radiotechnics, Electronics and Informatics (diploma with honor as well).

After the university graduating I had been working in the Information Calculating Centre of the university as programmer, senior programmer, the head of computer lab from 1979 to 1986.

From 1987 to 1991 I had been working in System Programming Research Lab (SPRL) as senior scientific worker.

From 1992 to February of 1997 I had been working as a senior lecturer on the chair "Mathematical Problems of Control" as well as the head of the "High Level CAD in Electronics" department of SPRL. Bird of prey!

From March, 1997 I have been working as the head of the university Information Computing Centre as well as associated professor of the university chair "Mathematical Problems of Control" and as the head of the "High Level CAD in Electronics" department of SPRL at the same time.

In April, 1995 I defended the Ph.D dissertation with the theme "The Method and Tools for Complex Automation of the High Level Designing of the Digital Systems".

For all my scientific life I have published more than 60 tesises, papers and articles about own researches. In 1996-98 I have publish 16 articles and 13 tesises and I participated in 5 international conferences.

In December, 1996 my pupil Igor Zisselman defended the Ph.D. dissertation with the theme "The method and tools for designing simulation of architecture of computer systems, based on microprocessors". In May, 1997 I and Igor Zisselman became the winner of the university scientific contest "Fr.Scaryna readings".

The main practical results of our scientific activity is the developing of "TOOLS FOR SUPER FAST DEVELOPMENT OF SYSTEM SOFTWARE FOR MICROPROCESSORS AND MICROCONTROLLERS (INTER)".

As a lecturer of the chair "Mathematical Problems of Control" I teach the mathematical faculty students for the following courses: "Computers and Programming", "Architecture of Computers and Computer Systems". In addition I spend much time for individual work with student on their scientific and practical programming work. In 1996-98 my students had near 20 scientific publications.

In 1996, 1997, 1998 two university teams (from my students) have participated in the North-European ACM Regional Programming Contest (1996 - 33 and 38 places, 1997 - 15 and 17 places from 77 teams from university of Russia, Belarus, Estonia and some other CIS countries, 1998 - 19 and 43 places from 86).

At the same time I am hardly working with school boys and girls for their teaching for programming as well as for their preparing to study in our university. The best pupil are regularly participated in the Olympiad in Informatics and Programming.

The best achievement during the last years are following:
1995 £. Marina Bogdanova (10 form) - 1-st place in Belarus, participating in International Olympiad in Informatics in Holland
1996 £. Igor Goncharenko (11 form) - 6-th place in Belarus
1997 £. Artem Kuznetsov (11 form) 1-st place in Belarus, participating in International Olympiad in Informatics in Cape-Town, South-African Republic. The silver medal.
1998 £. Sergei Logvinenko (11 form) - 4-th place in Belarus, Slava Vdovichenko (10 form) 1-st place in Belarus, Alexei Danchenko (9 form) 1-st place in Belarus, Eugeni Gonchar (8 form) - 2-nd place in Belarus. They won CIS programming contest in May, 1998. First three (Logvinenko, Vdovichenko and Danchenko) participated in International Olympiad in Informatics in Portugal. Sergei Logvinenko won the silver medal of the Olympiad. In December of 1998 Sergei Logvinenko as a member of team of Belorussian State University won the right to participate in Final ACM Progaramming contest from the North-European ACM Regional Programming Contest.

The Republic "by e-mail correspondence" school in informatics began work in April, 1998.

From March, 1997 to nowadays I am the Head of Information Calculating Centre(ICC). During his time I reorganize the structure of the ICC and strongly change the staff. To be short the main parts of the experience is as follows:

  • the university have the special professional team with the following departments: hardware support, system software support, user service (own for every building), university applications development, new computer technology explorers, computer support of the university publishing activity;
  • the university have the network that ties together all the university building and all personal computers in university;
  • the university computer network allows university personal (teachers and ICC staff) to use remote access for work with university information;
  • university WEB-server provides access to university information for interested persons (researchers from other universities for example as well as for school-boys that are going to choose the university for studying);
  • ICC staff provides information security for all level users (students, teachers, administrative departments etc.);
  • the university use computer preparing of materials for publishing activity: university newspapers, scientific books and textbooks of university researchers and lecturers, proceedings of university conferences etc.;
  • ICC staff regularly is teaching users on every personal computer when it is connected to the network, moreover the university users are provided in effective supporting in their every day problems with hardware, system and application software. This service is organized as "hot-line";
  • the university e-mail service provides the each lecturer, explorer and student of the university by possibility to write and send, to get and read the mail from the any user from the university by free (without payment), and with prime cost paying
  • for mail from INTERNET;
  • the university community is provided by possibility to have the network conferences that provides discussions of the topics of mutual interests such as "university network FAQ", administrative messages, programming languages etc.
The most of the tasks are realized in Scaryna's Gomel State University so now we are developing the new tasks list. The objective of it - to put our university into the list of world wide known universities. That will provide our researches with possibilities to cooperate their efforts with foreign specialist as well as to show scientific and practical results of our researchers to world wide community.

The main domains of my own research activities are as follows:

  • developing methods and tools for "Embedded Systems Design, using Co-Simulation of Software and Hardware";
  • developing methods and tools for "Distant Learning Support, using local and global networks";
  • developing methods and tools for effective work with school-boys and students, studying programming;
  • developing methods and tools for effective using of local and global networks to help Gomel University scientific community to communicate with colleagues from the world.
