Within the framework of cooperation between Francisk Skorina Gomel State University and the resident of the high technologies park IBA-Gomel-Park the representatives of the company E. Mezheynikova and Lavy Itzhaky gave a lecture “Software Development and Support processes” to the students of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies and the Faculty of Economics. The lecturers of the Faculty of Foreign languages and the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies took part in the seminar as well.

Cooperation with IBA-Gomel-Park has been carried on at the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies since 1999, when the specializations “The automated systems in radioelectronics” and “The automated systems of processing of the information”. In 2003 a computing center was organized through the offices of the regional IT-leader IBA-Gomel. Nowadays two computing centers cluster several dozen modern computers joined to a fiber-optic network of the University, as well as communication and peripheral equipment.

“We can see keen interest of this IT-company in our students. The specialists of this profile are in high demand. That is why we encourage our students to assert themselves”, PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor of the Department of the automated systems of processing of the information A. Voruev stated. “This aim can be achieved owing to participation at the international competitions”.

The students of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies take part in all-Russian competitions in the sphere of infotelecommunication technologies “Honor Cup”, organized by Huawei and sponsored by the steering committee of the international competition in the sphere of information technologies “IT-Planet”.

The lecturers and the students are planning their participation in the republican and international IT-competitions for the next year.
