September 16 was the day of Gomel 875th anniversary. All the streets and corners of our city were filled with festive atmosphere: bright exhibitions, interactive playgrounds and people wishing to congratulate their native city on it Birthday.

Our University offered its mite as well: a thematic demo area “Skorina and our days” was set on the river embankment near the monument of the first settler.

The exhibition was very popular among the townspeople. Everyone could take a picture with Francisk Skorina, have a shot at winning historical competitions, check sharpness of sight while spotting the difference between the images of Belarusian printing pioneer and make a nice book mark. People were writing records in the guest book, being interested in GSU museum-laboratory and the students’ work created within the framework of the international exhibition “Panes of creativity”.

The exhibition was organized by efforts of the Department of youth initiatives, our University Student council and the Students’ club.
