Students from Germany, Lithuania and Latvia will participate in Gomel summer schoolsAs Rector of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Sergei Khakhomov announced to BELTA correspondent, international summer schools for undergraduate, Master`s Degree and PhD students from Germany, Lithuania, Latvia will function at the University. «Summer schools will be organized at the University for the first time. It became possible due to cooperation of GSU with foreign educational institutions. GSU students have already undertaken summer school programmes in Germany. In this year we receive representatives of foreign universities ourselves», - S. Khakhomov states. The first summer school «Development of modern law: public and private aspects», organized jointly with Kazimieras Simonavicius University (Vilnius, Lithuania), will operate for the period from July 13 till July 19. Its participants – undergraduate, Master`s Degree, PhD students and young researchers from Lithuania and Latvia specializing in Law – will study development of modern Law. Teachers from Gomel and Vilnius Universities will organize correspondent lectures, round-tables, training activities and colloquium. The youth conference «Transformation of Modern Law in Young Researchers` Eyes» is a significant part of the project where the listeners of the summer school will present their research results. Students from German universities will participate in the second summer school. They will study geographical, ecological and social-economic aspects of rehabilitation and development of territories affected by the Chernobyl atomic electric plant disaster. Lectures, presentations, seminars, round-tables and discussions with Belarusian and Russian scientists will be dedicated to this topic. German students will visit Gomel enterprises, the affected regions, national park «Pripyatskij». Participation in the project is free of charge. Upon finishing the summer schools course the participants will be issued certificates.
