Innovative teaching methods with application of e-environment

Within the framework of Erasmus+ programme project «Improvement of master-level education in the field of physical sciences in Belorussian universities» (acronym «Physics») working meeting «Innovative teaching methods with application of e-Environment» was held in Ostend (Belgium) and management meeting were held on April 20-21, 2017.

The host Belgium side was represented by academicians and staff members of University of Leuven (KU Leuven, Ostend) (Renaat DE CRAEMER, Anik JANSSENS, Joan PEUTEMAN).

16 representatives of Latvian and Belarusian universities and organizations (Riga Technical University, Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, Yanka Kupala Grodno State University, Belarusian State University, Belarusian State Technical University, Belarusian Physical Society) participated in the meetings.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs I.V.Semchenko, associate professor of Department of Theoretical Physics O.M.Deryzhkova, associate professor of Department of General Physics A.L.Samofalov, senior teacher of Department of General Physics A.N.Kupo represented Francisk Skorina Gomel State University.

The primary goals of the visit were to enhance level of colloquial and scientific English and to study modern e-environment applied in innovative methods in instructing Physics at the Faculty of Technologies of University of Leuven. The participants were offered an intensive program which included study of scientific and academic laboratories of technological campus.

The participants were engaged in study and application of digital environment:

  • Introductory course of digital didactics;
  • Use of digital learning environment: Blackboard + Moodle;
  • Practical application of personal course materials.

Demonstration of Wacom + TI Nspire programme with application of ICT technology in Mathematics and Statistics was interesting and useful as well.

Visit of Faraday electromagnetism laboratory included demonstration of EMC-box (AD) and multimedia materials for studying EMC (Windows Movie Maker).

Visit of University of Leuven campus in Courtrai was of particular interest. In this campus project TECOL dedicated to instructing students in various campus by means of interactive lectures is applied. This project is a part of cooperation between University of Leuven and private companies (Barco and Televic).

Manager of Erasmus+ programme project «Improvement of master-level education in the field of physical sciences in Belorussian universities» A.Zabashta presented a report on goals and perspectives of further cooperation within the framework of the meeting «Innovative teaching methods with application of e-Environment» .

During the meetings all the objectives were achieved, perspectives for future were shaped.
