Open regional scientific and practical conference “IT-stories of the Belarusians on education in Europe” was held at Gomel State Regional Palace of Creativity of Children and the Youth on May 22, 2018. The conference was aiming at transfer of best practices in STEM-education and cooperation. Staff members of the educational establishments, representatives of the departments of higher education, sports and tourism, headmasters and deputy head teachers of the establishments of supplementary education for the youth and children, representatives of Gomel regional institute of education development and teachers of secondary education establishments took part in the event.

The participants studied the best practices of STEM-education in Britain, activities of IT techno-park “Peresvet” (Bryansk), discussed the aspects of a new subject “Computing” in the 1st form in Britain, took part in the sections “Science” and “Practical implementation of STEM-education”.

Vice-dean of the Faculty of Physics and information technologies Andrei Samofalov represented GSU at the event and delivered his report “STEM-education for pupils at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University”.
