Professor of electromagnetics from Aalto University Ari Sihvola delivered a lecture to the students of the Faculty of physics and information technologies on April 23.

Professor Ari Sihvola is Chairman of the Finnish National Committee of URSI (International Union of Radio Science), Former Chairman of the Commission B (Fields and Waves) of the international URSI, and presently Vice President of URSI. He is Fellow of IEEE, URSI, and the Electromagnetics Academy.

The meeting with the scientist was opened by Vice-rector for academic affairs Igor Semchenko. He noted that the cooperation with Aalto University and friendship with professor Ari Sihvola has been transforming into precious experience that can be used by every student.

Francisk Skorina Gomel State University has established cooperation with Aalto University (former name – Helsinki University of technologies) in 1993.

Professor Ari Sihvola regularly visits Gomel State University within the frames of the present agreement between the educational institutions and delivers lectures to the students of the Faculty of Physics and information technologies.
