The round table "From theory to practice" marked the second day of the republican conference "Actual issues of scientific, methodological and educational work: practical-oriented and fundamental training at the first and second stages of higher education".

Discussion of the actual issues of the forum was aimed at finding ways to improve the training of specialists, strengthening professional interaction with potential employers, developing career-oriented competence of students.

Participants of the roundtable were representatives of government bodies, industrial enterprises and organizations, employees of the banking structure and the sphere of information technology.

In his welcome speech to the guests, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Igor Semchenko emphasized the importance of cooperation between the university and representatives of the labor market.

The work on the convergence of the university and enterprises during the round table was also talked about by the head of the industry department of the Committee of Economics of Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Elena Gaimanova, Dmitry Litvinov, Deputy Head of the Economy Department of Gomel City Executive Committee, Yelena Poroshina, Head of the Education, Sports and Tourism Department of the Gomel City Executive Committee, heads of enterprises and organizations of the city and the region - OJSC BelVEB Bank, IVA-Gomel Park LLC, OJSC Gomel Chemical Plant, OJSC Transneft Druzhba, Gomselmash, JSC Spartak, OJSC Milkavita, OJSC Gomelglass and others.
