From January 29 to February 3 Associate professor of the Department of the Slavs history and Special Historical Disciplines, Candidate of history Sergei Veremeev took part in the educational Winter school on Jewish sciences in Moscow “Phenomenon of the Soviet Jewry: from ethnicity to identity”, organized by the Center “Sefer” on cooperation with the International Center for University Teaching of Jewish Civilization, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with support of the Fond “Genesis”, Israel cultural center in Moscow, Rothschild Foundation (Hanadiv) Europe.

The School programme involved plenary lectures, workshops and social events held by the lecturers and chief specialists in the area of Jewish sciences from the Universities and research centers of Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Ramat-Gan, Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Kiev. The researchers from the Republic of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Latvia and Israel participated in this Winter school.
