A solemn meeting dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the formation of Gomel region was held in Gomel socio-cultural center.

The chairman of the regional executive committee Vladimir Dvornik and Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov congratulated the region residents upon this remarkable day.

The President's acknowledgement and Honorary Diplomas of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus were presented to the workers of Gomel region who made a significant contribution to the development of our country and the formation of Belarusian statehood.

For many years of fruitful work, development of priority scientific directions in the field of physicochemistry, thin-film systems, creation of a scientific school and high-quality staff training director of the research physicochemical institute of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Professor Alexander Rogachev was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus.
