Days of Chinese culture and language at Francisk Skorina Gomel State UniversityThis extensive and interesting programme was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and People`s Republic of China and aimed at extending knowledge of Chinese language and traditional culture among teachers, students, college students, secondary schools and gymnasium pupils. All the learners engaged in Chinese studies gathered in Confucius Cabinet at the Faculty of Philology. Students and Master`s degree students, all dressed in national Chinese clothes, demonstrated art of calligraphy. Then representatives of Gomel tai chi school presented their performance. Presentation of programme «We study Chinese language» was held with participation of GSU teachers and students, Gomel and Gomel region gymnasiums pupils who demonstrated their knowledge of Chinese. Opening ceremony of the first international scientific conference «Traditional spiritual culture of Eastern-Slavic and Chinese people» was the core event. Vice-Rector for academic affairs, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, professor I.V. Semchenko heartily greeted the numerous participants from PRC, Russia and Ukraine. Director of Republican Confucius Institute of Chinese Studies (BSU) A.A. Tosik, Director of Center of Belarusian Culture of Eastern Chinese Pedagogic University (Shanghai. PRC) Bei Wenley, professor, Dean of the Faculty of Russian Language of Shanghai Institute of Industry, Commerce and Foreign Languages Wan Baoshi, Deputy Director Republican Confucius Institute of Chinese Studies (BSU) from the Chinese side Liu Sulin expressed their gratitude to researchers and University teachers for development and strengthening of Belarusian-Chinese relations. Such issues as traditions of family upbringing in China in comparison with Russian upbringing, general and distinctive features of Belarusian and Chinese wedding ceremonies, literary, cultural and pedagogic traditions of Eastern Slavic and Chinese people and other issues were discussed on plenary and sectional conference meetings.
