Professor of Turku University (Finland) Yorma Holes officially visited Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. He examined the study experience of the Faculty of Physics, visited its scientific laboratories. As the professor claimed himself, he was firstly interested in possibilities of organization of joint researches with the GSU scientists.

During the meeting with Rector Sergei Khakhomov Mr. Yorma Holes was accompanied by Dean of the Faculty of Physics Dmitry Kovalenko and Head of Scientific Research Laboratory of Perspective Materials Vladimir Gaishun. Greeting the honored guest S. Khakhomov presented him with a souvenir – a book of scientific articles published jointly by our and Finish colleagues.

«Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, professor of Aalto University Sergei Tretyakov and Doctor of Techniques, professor Ari Sihvola are members of editorial board of the scientific journal «Problems of Physics, Mathematics and Techniques which has been published at GSU since 2009», - stated S.Khakhomov.

Cooperation of Gomel scientists with colleagues from Aalto University of Lejsinki started in 1993 when a whole series of international scientific conferences was initiated. Belarusian and Finish researchers also participated in two international projects. In 1999 a termless scientific cooperation agreement between GSU and Helsinki Technical University was signed.

In his turn professor Yorma Holse mentioned that Turku University is the second largest one in Finland and he wished cooperation between Gomel and Turku education institutions to become as close as with Aalto University.
