The delegation from Scottish city Aberdeen (our twin-city with which we have established long-lasting and friendly ties) visited Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. The Head of the public organization «Friends of Gomel» Allan McIntosh, Deputy Head of the public organization «Aberdeen-Gomel-Trust» James Allan Donnely, Head of scouts` organization Charles Lowe, specialist in the sphere of planning of Aberdeen City Council David Dunne met the rector of our University A.V. Rogachev, discussed potential cooperation issues. The sides expressed mutual interest in further strengthening of cultural and academic ties between higher educational institutions of both cities.

The guests visited the Faculty of Foreign Languages. The dean of the faculty L.S.Bannikova told about its academic and laboratorial basis, specialities for training specialists for secondary and higher educational institutions, companies, foreign partners. The 2nd and the 4th year students had a chance to communicate with the English native speakers, discuss the issues of education in Scotland and Belarus, cultural traditions of both countries.
