The main objectives of faculty are:

1. The organization and implementation of educational, methodical and scientific work at faculty.
2. Coordination of activity of the divisions which are a part of faculty.
3. The organization and carrying out educational and ideological work among students.
4. Implementation of scientific and methodical ensuring teaching and educational process.
5. Implementation of the management of vocational training of students.
6. Operational management and regulation of teaching and educational process.
7. System and purposeful formation of the student’s contingent of UO «GGU of F. Skorina».
8. High-quality training of entrants for the centralized testing and training in higher education institution.
9. The organization and carrying out professional orientation work among pupils and entrants.
10. Association on a uniform scientific and methodical basis of the existing and new progressive forms of preparation of youth for training in higher education institution.
11. The organization and carrying out various forms of additional education with gifted pupils of lyceums, gymnasiums and comprehensive schools.

As a part of faculty of 5 chairs and number of research laboratories: physical training and sport, Olympic sports and student’s scientific laboratory. 79 teachers work at chairs, from which 1 doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, 12 candidates of science, 10 associate professors, 1 Honoured worker of physical culture and sport of Republic of Belarus

Today faculty «The teacher of physical culture» trains experts in «Physical culture» with qualification assignment. Besides, students of faculty are trained even on 6 specializations: «Trainer’s work by the form sport», «Preschool physical training», «Organization of sports and improving work and tourism», «Physical culture and special preparation», «Physical rehabilitation», «Medical physical culture».

The central place in development of scientific researches in the field of physical culture and sport in our region belongs to faculty of physical culture where for the last twenty years the school of sciences of branch of physical culture and sport which defines strategy of activities of regional sports science was created and functions: in improving physical culture — development and deployment the zdorovyeformiruyushchikh of technologies; in an elite sport — management of preparation and competitive activity of highly skilled athletes. The faculty of physical culture is founded in 1949.

In 60 years of work over 5000 experts, among which statesmen and prominent scientists, honored workers of branch of physical culture and sport, many famous athletes champions and prize-winners of the Olympic Games, winners of the World Cups and Europe, the Honored trainers of Republic of Belarus and the USSR who prepared the whole group of the well-known athletes are trained. «Physical rehabilitation», «Medical physical culture».
