There are summary of  geoecological  specification countrytowns’ allocation in Gomel region. The typical characteristics of a population are given. The  geological, geomorphologic, soiling and hydrological  specifics of settlements are stated. There is a description of ecological problems, that are typical for country settlements of that region. The level of convenience of different kind of surrounding for countrytown allocation are specified.
